Pulsar Lumion XL50 thermal monocular

Pulsar Wildlife’s top-of-the-range thermal imaging monocular

The Lumion XL50 is Pulsar Wildlife’s top-of-the-range thermal imaging monocular, designed to provide outstanding thermal clarity and detection capabilities. Its ergonomically designed, rubber-armoured bodyshell will withstand the bumps, knocks, and scrapes one would expect from everyday use whilst ensuring excellent user comfort over long periods of observation. The Lumion’s zoom and focus rings are located on the objective lens to provide a familiar feel reminiscent of a traditional camera, whilst achieving fast and intuitive magnification and focusing.

PULSAR LUMION XL50

The Lumion XL50 features a large format 1024×768, 12µm, <40mK NETD HD thermal sensor, providing crystal-clear images all the way through its 2.5-20x magnification range and achieving an astonishing detection range of up to 2300m.

Ergonomic design with objective ring zoom control

Ergonomics is at the forefront of the Lumion’s design, offering an observation experience that remains comfortable at all times through a convenient and easy to reach button layout along the top panel. An attachable hand strap can be easily rotated from one side to the other (without being removed) to better cater to left- and right-handed users.

The addition of classically considered focusing and magnification rings located on the objective lens (as found on traditional cameras), allows for smooth image magnification and quick focusing with minimal effort.

Optimal performance in extreme conditions

Designed to take on the elements, the Pulsar Wildlife Lumion features a composite polymeric rubber-coated bodyshell, protecting this thermal imaging monocular against wear and withstanding even the most unforgiving weather conditions. Non-slip characteristics guarantee a secure grip in both dry and wet environments, and ensure cleaning remains nice and easy, so you can maintain your device’s original, unblemished appearance for longer.

The Lumion’s IPX7 rating protects against water ingress and will even ensure optimal operation after a dip in 1m of water (for a duration of up to 30 minutes). The housing, power unit, optics, and electronics are all protected against extreme temperatures, with performance remaining unimpeded by temperature from -25 to +40°C.

Better Clarity with advanced Image Boost

Pulsar Wildlife’s advanced image boost technology utilises a set of proprietary image processing algorithms to offer the highest level of image detail, clarity, and contrast. This software is used to provide greater detailing and better sharpening of observed objects at varying distances.

The sensitivity level can be manually increased to further improve the Lumion’s detection capabilities when environmental conditions worsen, and a smoothing filter, along with a wide range of brightness and contrast settings, will ensure a more comfortable experience over long periods of observation.

The first Pulsar Wildlife device to feature a direct USB-C plug & wireless charging capabilities

The Lumion is provided with a brand-new LPS 7i quick-change Li-ion battery pack, providing up to 8 hours of battery life (depending on temperature). This battery pack requires no special chargers, charging via a standard USB-C port, and uses the Power Delivery fast charging protocol to charge your battery to full power in only a short time.

PLUS, the Lumion is the first (and currently only) device in the Pulsar Wildlife range to feature wireless charging. So, if you’re on the move, simply pop your battery onto your car’s wireless charging dock (or plug in a wireless charger) and your battery will charge as you go.

The Lumion series also features:

Enhance your observation experience through a selection of 8 colour palettes

Streamline your surveys with built-in still image capture and video recording with audio

Save your preferences with User Mode

IPX7 waterproof rated

Unimpeded by extreme temperatures (from -25 to +50°C)
