Small footprint, huge performance

The Orni may be palm-sized and light as a feather, but it stands shoulder to shoulder with current high-performance entries in the Pulsar range. A highly sensitive 640×480, 12µm, <20mK sNETD thermal sensor, combined with a powerful 35mm f1.0 objective lens, provides remarkable levels of image detail — enabling easy detection and identification at distances reaching up to 1800m.

A wide 12.5° field of view is perfect for searching and scanning, providing a clear view of your surroundings, and a 2.5-20x magnification range and 8x digital zoom allows for closer inspection and enhanced identification.

Optimised for one-handed use

The Orni XG35’s focus wheel is located just in front of the viewfinder, allowing for one-handed focus adjustments, ushering in a new era of single-handed thermal observation. A four-button arrangement has been ergonomically considered to achieve comfortable operation, offering control over all of the most commonly used digital functions.

An ambidextrous wrist strap and symmetrical bodyshell design enables comfortable left- or right-handed operation, and haptic feedback will provide a short vibration when a button is pressed — confirming or alerting you to any button presses.

Next-generation built-in precision laser rangefinder

A seamlessly integrated precision laser rangefinder can be found under the objective lens, providing an incredible 1500m distance measuring range with an accuracy of ±1m, whilst taking up a fraction of the footprint found on previous LRF-equipped monoculars. These distance measurements can prove crucial in the field, providing valuable distance data.

Outstanding clarity through advanced image processing algorithms

The Orni achieves astonishing levels of image clarity through the combination of Pulsar’s proprietary set of advanced image processing algorithms and cutting-edge electronic components — boosting signal clarity, minimising noise, and ensuring only the best image quality in every situation.

Advanced video processing algorithms will achieve precise object rendering, with every important anatomical detail captured in exceptional detail. This image clarity is further improved through optimised image brightness and contrast settings, achieving an outstanding viewing experience.

Crystal-clear picture with built-in image stabilisation

First showcased in the Merger LRF XT50, digital image stabilisation reduces the effects of camera shake and image blur caused by shaking hands or bumpy terrain, enhancing image quality when scanning the FOV or observing objects and animals at long range.

Rugged and durable design for everyday use in adverse conditions

With a rugged design featuring a durable magnesium alloy bodyshell, the Oryx LRF has been constructed for consistent use in all types of scenarios. Whether you’re on an expedition in blistering heat and dusty climates, or traipsing through dense snow in sub-zero temperatures, this compact but mighty monocular is designed for any situation, offering the same outstanding performance regardless of environment.

Plus, as the first device in the Pulsar product range to feature an IP67 protection rating, the Oryx LRF will withstand heavy rain and extreme humidity and will remain operational after immersion in up to 1 metre of water for up to 30 minutes. This IP67 rating also protects against dust and contact with objects larger than 1mm.

Elongated observation with Pulsar’s intuitive dual-battery system

Equipped with Pulsar’s innovative dual-battery system, the Orni combines an internal rechargeable battery with a removeable, rechargeable APS5 battery for up to 12 hours of uninterrupted power distribution. Both batteries will display their charge percentage on-screen, allowing for accurate power monitoring. Each battery can be charged via the USB-C port.

The Orni series also features:

Three sensitivity amplification levels

Streamline your surveys with built-in video recording capabilities with audio

Built-in image stabilisation achieves an always steady and crystal-clear picture

Wide field of view for searching and scanning

Advanced image processing algorithms

Haptic feedback on button press

Improved Wi-Fi connectivity (2.5/5 GHz)

Tripod mountable — perfect for hours of hands-free observation during surveys
