Wildflower Meadow Turf (Bio)
Our wildflower turf is the easiest way to create a thriving meadow habitat, full of wild flowers, grasses and the wildlife that needs them.
We've had cool butterflies such as hairsteaks turn up, as well as grasshoppers and several species of dragonfly. The meadows have been teeming with hoverflies and solitary bees.
Our wildflower turf is sold by the square metre for easy measuring and is delivered on a pallet ready for laying. All our turfs contain a fully bio-degradable mesh, unlike some other turfs which use plastic.
You can order at any time of the year, but it's best not to lay it when the ground's too wet, too dry, too cold or too hot. If stocks aren't available when you order, we'll let you know when it is available and arrange a delivery date that's convenient for you.
Minimum order is 5 square metres. Note that shipping is charged after we receive your order, when we know how much you've ordered and where it's going. You can see the likely charges in the images and they're plus VAT.
Select the Turf Type, then the Quantity Range, then add the Quantity in square metres.

PRODUCT INFO
Our standard wildflower meadow turf is a 75% mix of wildflower and 25% grass seed so that you get a high proportion of flowers. All seeds used are, of course, from native stock (except where specified). The grasses used in the turf form a dense sward which acts as a weed blanket, giving the wildflower plants a head start against outside competition, and have been chosen to complement rather than overwhelm the flowers.
Because Wildflower Turf is grown on a plastic base all the root development is contained within the turf itself, creating a good mat of roots. This gives it great strength which in turn makes it easy to handle and lay. And because it hasn't been cut from topsoil it hasn't lost its roots, so it establishes itself really quickly in your garden (occasionally, our soil-less turf may be unavailable, in which case we will supply an alternative).
Maintenance, apart from watering it during establishment, is minimal... no weeding or fertilising should be necessary, just an annual cutting in autumn.
Wildflower turf can be grown using specific species to suit your requirements, so please contact us with your requirements.
Note that there may be a surcharge for delivery to northern Scotland. We can't supply to Northern Ireland.Click here for more information on our Wildflower Turf,
