Harp Traps
The good news is, we hope to be able to ship our first harp traps at the end of March 2025. However, interest has been far higher than we expected so the manufacturer has an extensive backlog of orders to get through.

Austbat Harp Trap
The Austbat Harp trap range was in continual production for over twenty five years and over that time it was refined and improved to offer today’s bat worker the most effective, reliable and easy to assemble bat trap possible.
The Austbat range included the classic two-bank and innovative three and four-bank versions. Alternatively, the four-bank converter kit enabled any pair of Austbat two-bank traps to be quickly deployed as a solid four-bank super trap.
All three models were available in trap areas to your specification – from the 1m2 mini mine-shaft trap through to the full 4.2m2 standard model.
Sound design and selection of high quality lightweight materials resulted in a microbat harptrap that was:
Effective - excellent capture success combined with low escape rates;
User friendly - quick to assemble, easy to adjust; no tools were required;
Corrosion resistant – made from high grade anodised aluminium, stainless steel and brass;
Mould resistant – the troppo bag was made of tough rot-proof synthetic material. The weave of the bag fabric provided the perfect balance between breathability and tactility for microbats during their stay. Classic canvas bags were also available;
Lightweight - trap weighed just twelve kilograms, (standard 4.2m2model);
Interchangeable - all components were precision machined, enabling smooth assembly. Parts were freely interchanged between traps if required. Future spare parts were guaranteed to fit the trap that you bought;
Proven - over 650 Austbat traps are operating in 22 countries around the world, covering a vast range of habitats, from steamy jungles to scorching deserts. This is a living testament to the dependability of the Austbat Harptrap.
Prices included lightweight carry bag and an information booklet on assembly, line repair, re-stringing and maintenance, as well as UK shipping and VAT (if you were outside the UK, we could supply without the VAT - please email your order and we'll send you an international payment link without the VAT).
We are currently taking pre-orders for these harp traps, while we wait for them to come into the UK. We expect the first ones around the end of March 2025.

Prices below are now confirmed. Note that these new harp traps will be as close as is possible to the previous Austbat harp traps in terms of structure and functionality.
